Aamir Khan enjoying free time with little one
Posted by Admin on January 21st, 2012 | Category: general

New Delhi: Aamir Khan is a bit free these days and the actor-producer is keeping himself busy spending time in watching his newborn son grow up. “Hope the new year has begun well for you all. Me, I’m spending all my free time with Azad :-) Love. a,” the 46-year-old posted on his Facebook page.

Aamir and his second wife Kiran Rao’s son was born Dec 1 last year, to a surrogate mother through IVF. The couple has named the boy Azad, named after freedom fighter and independent India’s first education minister Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Aamir’s great grand uncle.

The actor, who also has a son, Junaid, and a daughter, Ira, from his first wife Reena, loves playing with his new bundle of joy.

This year, he will be seen only in one project. He will feature alongside Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor in Reema Kagti’s “Talaash”, a psychological thriller written and directed by Reema Kagti.

This apart, he has also joined hands with Star Plus for a talk show, said to be completely for the masses. He has sent out an open invite to his fans, who wish to be a part of the show’s audience.

“Hi guys, important announcement: Those of you living in Mumbai, and interested in being a part of the audience on my TV show, please write to audience@akpfilms.in. Further details will be given to you once you write here,” he wrote on his Facebook.

Aamir has also been signed on to play the villain in ‘Dhoom 3′. But the movie will only release in 2013.

Aamir Khan wants to cook
Posted by Admin on May 15th, 2011 | Category: general

‘Ek baar jo maine commitment kardi toh mein apne aap ki bhi nahi sunta.’ We know it’s actor Salman Khan’s catch-phrase but we can’t help but think that it aptly fits actor Aamir Khan as well. The actor, as we know has a reputation of being a perfectionist. He is not only a stickler when it comes to his roles on screen but also his real life.

Now a source says that Aamir’s latest obsession is to learn to swim and cook! No, this is not for any role in particular but the actor is apparently fascinated with the idea of arming himself with these two skill sets. Do we see city chef’s worrying already?

Not just this, but the actor apparently is also keen on learning as many foreign languages as he can. The source says that Aamir is on a spree where he wants to improve his personal skills and he realised that there are too many things that he still doesn’t know. “He’s taking time to learn all that he can now,” says the source.

It may be recalled that Aamir is also one of the few actors who has, in the past, taken his on-screen role seriously enough to live it when the cameras are not on too.He mastered the art of body building and learnt Marathi in the past and pretty much managed to surprise his audience with the result of his dedication.

When he signed Ghajini, Aamir cropped his hair and worked to get a dream body! The source reminds us, “Aamir went a step ahead and while most actors were flaunting six-pack abs, he managed to build an eight pack one! He had hired a personal trainer, shed the extra kilos and looked leaner, chiselled and super-fit with those abs shining. That’s Aamir’s definition of getting into character.”

But, clearly, now his obsession for perfection isn’t just restricted to films. The actor had reportedly expressed his desire to learn Marathi, around a year back, and while most dismissed it as a publicity stunt, the actor actually learnt it!

“Many felt that it was a gimmick to please his Marathi audiences. But he shocked everyone when he not only spoke but also sang a song in the language at the annual Police awards. Nobody till then knew that he was actually learning the language. But that’s Aamir for you,” concludes the source.

Aamir Khan was once scared of Holi
Posted by Admin on March 20th, 2011 | Category: general

Actor Aamir Khan is a Holi-boy: he was born on the day of Holi.

But the versatile actor was once scared of the festival of colours, he says.

“Many are not aware that I was born on the day of Holi — 14 March, 1965. Ammi (Mother) had told me that when I was born, the nurse had come and put some colour on my face.

But as a child, I was always scared of Holi, because of colourful faces and the noise that people make while playing Holi. So I stayed at home,” Aamir says.

The 46-year-old actor lost the fear of colours and boisterous celebration once he entered his teens.

“After I turned 14-15, I was no more scared, and started playing Holi. We still celebrate Holi, with family and close friends,” says Aamir.

Incidentally, one of his first films as a professional actor was titled Holi, which came out in 1984. It was directed by Ketan Mehta.

Aamir Khan, who turns another year older on March 14, will have reason to smile…

Aamir Khan celebrates his birthday on March 14. The actor will complete 46 years. The future, numerologist Bhavikk Sangghvi predicts is only going to shine brighter on the Khan, who already features in the top rung of actors.

“Aamir will be entering his 47th year which happens to be his ‘destiny’ number and the only way his graph will go from now on is up,” says Sangghvi.

His forthcoming production ‘Delhi Belly’ will be successful at the box office, Aamir will stand his own in Reema Kagti’s movie, but it’s Aamir Khan-starrer Dhoom 3 that’s all set to break box office records, predicts Bhavikk.

Aamir wants Salman to marry
Posted by Admin on March 14th, 2011 | Category: general

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, who turned 46 Monday, says he wants his friend and co-star Salman Khan to get married soon. “I am looking forward to the day when Salman Khan would get married. He has so many good looking girls roaming around him,” Aamir told reporters Monday when he was asked who among the age forty plus actors he would like to see taking marriage vows.

Aamir celebrated his birthday by cutting a cake in the lawns of his Pali Hill residence.

Aamir forayed into acting with 1988 film “Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak” after which there was no looking back for him. As an actor, he has given several hits like “Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar”, “Lagaan”, “Sarfarosh” and “Dil Chahta Hai”, “Rang De Basanti”, ” Ghajini” and ” 3 Idiots”.

When he decided to wield the megaphone, he came out with a magnificent story of a dyslexic child in his directorial debut “Taare Zameen Par”, which he had produced as well, and it turned out to be a big hit at the box office. As a producer too he made successful commercial hits like Oscar nominated period drama “Lagaan” and “Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na”. He also produced non-commercial hits “Peepli Live” and “Dhobi Ghat”. His successful art of multitasking has earned him the title of Mr. Perfectionist in Bollywood.

Aamir says after spending over three decades in the industry his horizon as an actor has broadened. “I am thankful for the love and affection that the industry has showered on me and my horizon as an actor has also broadened over the years,” he said.

He is also delighted to see female directors making their mark in the male dominated industry. “I have worked with Kiran Rao (‘Dhobi Ghat’), Anusha Rizvi (‘Peepli Live’) and I am doing Reema Kagti’s new film and I really support them and appreciated them for their work,” he said.

Aamir had made certain promises to himself on his birthday last year and the actor says he has achieved some of them. “I have learned Marathi to quite an extent, have started swimming but haven’t learnt to cook till now. And talking about spending more time with my mother, she has started living on the top floor, so I am spending time with her,” he said the actor who has signed Yash Raj Films’ “Dhoom 3″.

Currently he is busy with Kagti’s untitled movie, but took time off from shooting to spend his birthday with his family.
