The perfectionist Aamir Khan who is busy shooting for the first schedule of his next movie besides Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee has come up with another statement to stun his followers. He candidly confesses that the subject of 3 Idiots being focussed on education was the only reason for him to accept the offer from Raju Hirani. He basically wasn’t convinced that audiences would so effortlessly accept him as an 18 year old. This statement is quite a shocker from this actor after the humungous success and the money the film has grossed worldwide.

He said that the impact of Taare Zameen Par weighed on him heavily to accept the script handed over to him. After the former was an instant success, he has imposed a responsibility upon himself to create a cinematic barrier to manage both entertainment and social messages within a single script. That was the possible reason for him to accept the film ultimately. Besides education, Aamir is also associated with the cause of malnutrition.

“All these issues are linked. I am working with the Women and Children Welfare ministry as well as the UNICEF for the betterment of not well to do kids.” The actor was in the capital today to launch the book ‘Colours of my Rainbow’ by Himani Verma, which centralises the social work done by Salma Ansari, wife of the Vice President of India Hamid Ansari. So, Aamir Khan has proved once again to the audiences to believe that he would endorse any product thats linked with a social cause.

Mumbai, Aug 27 (PTI) Actor-filmmaker Aamir Khan says high expectations from his fans make him humble. Addressing media-persons after the DVD launch of his last release ’3 Idiots’ here today, Aamir said he was moved and touched that his work was being appreciated. “I consider myself lucky to have worked with good directors and a creative team,” he said. “Team work is important and I am part of the team. The success is not just mine alone,” he added.

Asked why he shunned awards functions, where the film swept all categories, Aamir said his views on the issue were well known. “The biggest award is the audience appreciation and I think this film (3 Idiots) got it in abundance,” he said. The actor said he was emotionally attached to all his movies whether they did good business or flopped and whether they were good or bad films. “After each film is completed, I take home the clapboards,” he added.

Asked how different he was from his on screen character Rancho, Aamir said he did not have Rancho’s scientific mind. “Rancho loves electronic gadgets and these machines don’t like Aamir Khan. I can’t even handle the air-conditioner or run a DVD at home,” he said. Aamir said he would have loved to present the ’3 Idiots’ DVD to his favourite directors late Guru Dutt, Mehboob, Raj Kapoor.

Blockbuster film 3 Idiots is coming to your television sets soon and actor Aamir Khan wants to make its television premiere as memorable as the film’s release last year. Buzz is that Rancho wants to appear on small screen to announce the telecast date, Mid-Day reports. The promos stating that the movie is coming soon have already started appearing on the small screen. The actor believes that it is imperative to actively sell a movie once its over six months old.

A source said, “Knowing the actor’s penchant for marketing, the channel has put forth several ideas. But the actor is still weighing the options. He is thinking of the various ways to promote the telecast. He is keen to make it distinct from being a mere screening like the other films.”

The channel wants Aamir to make an aappearance on Indian Idol finale on August 15 and announce the telecast date of 3 Idiots. His home production Peepli Live also releases on August 13 and he could combine its promotions with that of 3 Idiots.
