Aamir Khan game for production of regional cinema
Posted by Admin on August 27th, 2010 | Categoryr: movies

A day after Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan backed the demand of prime slots for Marathi movies in multiplexes, actor Aamir Khan too has come out supporting regional cinema.

“In between there was a break as I was travelling and unwell too…the (learning) process will continue. I will be happy to produce Marathi movies. The story and script should touch me. The language is not important,” Aamir told reporters at the DVD launch 3 Idiots in Mumbai today.

“Our languages are the most beautiful part of our culture, he said expressing his readiness to venture into production of regional cinema. Language comes secondary,” he added.

When asked about his friend Salman Khan’s upcoming release Dabbang, Aamir said the promos of the film look very exciting.

“Many of my friends are calling me asking me to speak to Salman to arrange for a trial show before the release,” he said.

He said his wife Kiran Rao’s directorial debut, Dhobi Ghat would be premiered in Toranto Film Festival.

On the theatrical release of the movie back home, he said the date is yet to be finalised but would be some time early next year.
